Any ideas???

I know this isn't AAT related, but I was hoping you guys could help me. I have just acquired a 6 month old springer spaniel rescue dog. The trouble is he needs a name and I don't have a clue what to call him. I was hoping some of you would be able to give me some ideas. He needs a really cool name........ any suggestions???

Called our german wirehaired pointer Ozzy. Really suits his character. On the Booze theme, the other dog ( a bouvier) is called Murphy. Have in the past gone through a Scooby, a Muttley and a Snoopy. Its really hard thinking up names. Let us know what you end up with.

Any ideas???

Hey Stick2000, my mate Fflur named her dog Guinness too! I had a dog called Rusty (as he was a rusty colour, how unoriginal!!...) and a cat called Fat Cat (he wasn't really that fat...), but wish i'd names them summit more cool, but couldn't think of one cool enough at the time... hope u have better luck than me with names!

How about Liberty as you have set the poor mite free from its rescue home? My hubbie has told me that when I retire (years away yet!) or if I ever qualify as an accountant and work from home, that I can have a West Highland Terrier (as I have always wanted one!) This puppy (which I have to wait a long time for!) has already got its name - she will be called Ruddles!!! Would be good to know what you finally decide.

Spaniels are lovely, loving animals I have two Cocker Spaniels, Molly and Flynt. My other half wanted to call Flynt Jasper instead but I thought it sounded a bit poncy - really wish I had now as he certainly looks like a Jasper when he looks at me with his nose in this air and the fur on his ears has grown far too long. I like the sound of Liberty (but surely a girl's name?) and Jerry would be good. I know someone who called their spaniel Jaffa but I guess this would only work for an orange colour. Good luck and hope you have lots of energy. My sister's springer never seemed to stop and could certainly spring for England. My two are more like lounge lizards and would never turn down a walk but would sooner cuddle up when it's raining than go for a walk, thank you very much!

As soon as you mentioned greyhound cross I instantly thought of Jasper Carrott and had never made that connection before so perhaps it is more appropriate for a different breed and not at all poncy after all :-) I also know a few people who have chosen surnames for their pets - perhaps maiden names - Murphy, Rafferty, Jones and Troupe. If you aren't married perhaps your mother's maiden name?

my moms maiden name is Robinson - think that'd be a bit crap if I used that method! LoL! There are some strange surnames around - mine included so it could be very original!
