FTC or BPP

Can anyone recommend any of these, im planning on going to either of these colleges for CIMA. iv heard that BPP books are harder to understand????<BR><BR>Would be grateful if anyone could give me some advice,<BR><BR>Thanks,<BR>Fiona

    I've used BPP all the way through for Cima and found them absolutely excellent. If you actually take a course (even home study I think) you get course notes, so the book is really only necessary for background reading, not for core topics. I'm not particularly proud to say it but I have first time passes in the whole of managerial level and rarely opened a book, but did study the course notes thoroughly, they condense everything down. FTC also have a good reputation, as do Premier Training (they are only home study) but I can't comment personally on them.

    I can only back danteandsam up as I studied AAT at college on day release and have now done 2 ACCA papers with BPP and one with a local uni. As far as notes and taught courses go, they are fantastic. I have never had a problem accessing the tutors and they are always interested in what you do after their bit is done. They always ring after the exams to advise and help.<BR><BR>The course notes are brilliant, rarely dive into the text book but it is always there as back up.<BR><BR>Annette

    if you could pass on the study notes, it would be of great help. whichever ones you have p_av@rediffmail.com <BR>have a difficult time going thru bpp books as they are so bulky. but they are cover so much in detail

    Right, BPP's handout notes are brilliant by the sound of it.<BR><BR>What about FTC? I'm thinking of doing home study with FTC. I've always studied at an independent small college, so I don't know anything about FTC or BPP. I've heard that BPP has too many students in a classroom, though.<BR><BR>

    If you are doing home study it doesn't matter how many people in a class room does it????<BR><BR>I've only done taught courses with BPP but found them really good, admin no problem at my centre so I guess it may be centre specific admin problems that have been mentioned before. I can't comment on FTC (although I did use their tax books) because they dont' offer my courses in my area.<BR><BR>Good luck<BR><BR>Annette

    pvsharon<BR><BR>You can't purchase their course notes separately - only by doing one of their courses. I'm not sure whether you get them on a home study course but you definitely do on a taught course.<BR><BR>Annette
