Hi

I have just finished Intermediate (awaiting results), will be doind Technician next year and been looking at the exemptions for CIMA. Look on this link:

http://www.cimaglobal.com/cps/rde/xchg/SID-0AAAC564-217ABBC4/live/root.xsl/1291.htm

When you have passed ALL the Technician levels, you gain exemptions from the first level of CIMA and can go straight onto the Managerial Level.

Hope this helps0 -
CIMA
Hi

'TheBigMan' is right on technician exemptions. Intermediate wont get you anything from CIMA, and they no have an open access policy so anyone regardless of qualifications can do it.

With regards to how long CIMA would take after AAT depends on how many papers you do at each sitting. Managerial level has 6 papers which must be pass before the 3 papers at strategic level, which in turn must be passed before the final TOPCIMA paper.

In theory you could do it in 18 months, but this would involve doing (and passing) all managerial papers in one sitting followed by the 3 strategic papers at the next sitting and TOPCIMA at the sitting after that - heavy going!!!

A more realistic approach maybe managerial over 18 months/3 sittings and then strategic over 1 year/ 2 sittings.

Neil0
