Hi all ,
Havenâ??t posted any messages for a while. Had some bad experience with BPP in London .I've been with them as a home study student. Quite surprisingly never find any of the home study tutor on the phone. Whenever phoned heard their voice mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .
Even after leaving message they donâ??t get back .I havenâ??t got any clue whatâ??s the point of having tutors if they arenâ??t available.
I tried Premier Training, much better than BPP. Talked to a tutor , the person is very supportive.
I donâ??t know how BPPâ??s ACCA or CIMA tuition.
But certainly I wouldnâ??t recommend BBP for AAT home study.(specially London branch)
Many thanks
BPP !!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Echo

Sorry to hear about your experiences with BPP but I think you should complain to your local centre about the service you have been provided with.

I must say, however, I trained (and qualified both AAT and ACCA) with BPP and found them to be nothing but exemplary. They were, beyond a doubt, far better than FTC or Premier Training. I am therefore very surprised you have had problems with them. I know their study texts can be somewhat large but following student comments I understand that they have to make their study texts large to take into account those students who do not follow classroom courses.

Again, I'm sorry to disagree but I think BPP are by far one of the best.

Regards
Steve.0 -
BPP !!!!!!!!!!!!
Many thanks Steve, for your comment.
BPP's study text is fine, i agree, specially for the AAT Unit 7 intermediate I had both the Osborne and BPP books. Some the areas weren't covered in the osborne books, which I found on the BPP one.
But Osborne books are easy to undersand than BPP.
But anyway rather than comparing BPP, Premier or Osborne ...............let's have a nice Weekend.
Thanks

0 -
BPP !!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with Echo - the texts are excellent - but a little on the large side - but there have been so many admin problems with my course, (things not being sent, the wrong things being sent, simulations being lost (more than once!), simulations not being sent, my tutor left BPP and didn't tell me, etc etc) and I don't actually have a personal tutor for the module that I am currently studying (CMCC) so let's hope I don't get stuck! I have asked for the name of someone, but no-one has ever replied.

My tutor for the MAS project never gets back to me either - I've been waiting to start it for nearly two months now but cannot get hold of them to talk about anything - it's just so frustrating!

Thankfully I've not needed to ask any 'technical' questions yet but would be worried if I had to.0 -
BPP !!!!!!!!!!!!
I would say that FTC (Angel) is the worst college I have been too. I am considering moving to the BPP Waterloo centre. Has anyone had experience of them. What are the tutors like in terms of contacting them. Also, how is the course material like?

Bhavi0 -
BPP !!!!!!!!!!!!
I must agree with Waterfalls - I started Tech level with FTC years ago and they were abismal. The tutors were crap, the books were even worse as they contained errors all over the place and the general attitude of the staff was basically they couldn't be arsed in fact one of the tutors who used to teach the now DFS used to look at you as if you'd asked him to crawl from one end of Manchester to the other on broken glass if you asked him to help you with something. I have heard a few horror stories about BPP but in terms of the admin staff (not the tutors). I studied with BPP Manchester and I will not hear a wrong word said about the tutors. They did have problems with the admin staff which they admitted, sacked them and got new ones who know what they were doing.

I think, however, at the end of the day a lot of it is down to luck but BPP are generally very good (tutorwise) but I'm not sure about other centres and their admin staff.

0 -
BPP !!!!!!!!!!!!
I've studied with both Luton and Milton Keynes centres of BPP and have never had any problems. If I didn't understand something I rang and emailed my tutors who replied as soon as they could (they were often teaching when I rang) always within 24 hours. I never even had a problem with the admin. The main advantage of them against college is if a tutor was sick, they have someone else qualified in that subject to teach it. When I did my other papers at college, if the tutor was sick, there was no lesson. That was hard to take when our tutor went off 2 weeks before the exam and my AAT tutor broke her arm and leg!!!

I've been so impressed with BPP and especially the aftercare that I am taking the rest of my papers with them.

Annette0 -

Hi
I am with BPP Waterloo Branch. Not very happy. Never find the tutors on the phone.
I have seen many AAT students recommend Premier Training.I would go for Premier if they were based In London. They are in outside London .
So I will stick to BPP .
Good luck,0
