Hi,

I am just starting on these units and am struggling with the evidence. My tutor says to write a report and back it up with additional evidence, but I was wondering if anyone had any examples of what they did?

I know this unit can wait, but I'd rather finish it before I start the Intermediate stage (assuming I past foundation that is! *crosses fingers*)

mi|kshake

    Units 22/23 Evidence Help!

    Hi there

For units 22 and 23 the best thing to do is as follows:

Health and safety, draw a birds eye diagram of your office, on it you need to mark any safety features (e.g. fire exits, smoke alarms) and any hazards (e,g. wires trailing accross the floor). this will show you have understanding of the risks etc. In addition you need to prove evidence that you have actually done something, therefore see if you can find any emails you have sent where you have perhaps pointed out a danger to a manager so that they can get it corrected, or if it's within your responsibility correct it yourself and then send an email (hopefully they will repond and say thankyou) have a chat with them first to let them know what you are doing and why. Also evidence of things like your company's fire drill procedures are good, as long as you can show that you follow them and the drills are carried out regularly etc.

For APE again a map of the office works well highlighting things like filing systems, the layout of your work station etc, backed up with a report of how you have made improvements, e.g like poor light, had a light for your desk purchased. reorganising printers or filing to make people job easier. Also things like examples of your diary, to do lists etc to show how you organise your day with details on things like how you prioritise. Any notes from annual appraisals etc are also good especially if they show objectives, you can then show how you are meeting them.

Hope this gives you a good start, your tutor should be able to give you lots of specifics to help you out, make sure you ask them to make it nice and clear for you, after all, that's what they're there for. All the best
