Can you start ACCA if you haven't completed AAT?

    ACCA?

You need to fully complete AAT to gain full exemptions from the first year of ACCA.

You can start ACCA without AAT - you'll just start at the first year.

Scott.

    ACCA?

Because you have failed tax you will not have completed AAT Technician on this occasion. If you pass technician you do not have to do the first year of ACCA because the course content is so similar. You therefor have 2 options:

1 Retake tax in December and start ACCA in February (6 month delay)

2 Start ACCA now for 3 years ( 1 year delay )

I have read somewhere on this forum that ACCA have extended the closing date untill the end of August for AAT people however I would seriously recomend that you retake tax and perspone enroling on ACCA until you pass Technician as this will save you almot a whole yeras work.

Does this help?

    ACCA?

I think you wait until you've passed the dreaded tax exam - I'm doing PTC in December too, so I'll be feeling your pain!

I also think that after doing FOUR exams this time, it would be good for you to have a break from study for a bit and just concentrate on the one exam.

Could you start ACCA next spring?

    Hi.

ACCA have a very good website:

http://www.accaglobal.com/

They have extended the deadline for showing your results to claim exemptions - the date for registering was August 15th.

Best wishes with whatever you decide, although if you start ACCA now, you won't attain AAT qualification, won't have the NVQ4 qualification and won't be able to use the letters after your name. If you then don't complete the 3 years of ACCA - you'll have nothing to show for your hard work and effort. I'd go with finishing AAT and starting ACCA next year with your exemptions.

Scott.

You can register with ACCA at any time but in order to sit the December Exams you have to register by their closing date... For AAT students it is extended until end of August.

I am going onto ACCA in September having just passed AAT - however as I am not sitting any exams until May so there's no rush. However my uni will not expect me onto Part 2 until I am registered with ACCA so I still have to register with ACCA before September.

The extension for AAT students (31 Aug) is for exemptions.
