Hi All,

I passed both, so am definatly going back to do tech, however i don't know which units to take, i know if i take tax i get some exception from acca or cima if i decide to do that. But i don't know whether to take the easy option with just the simulation based units or to take the exams. I will be working 40 hours a week as well as doing 2 evenings at college, 3 if i take tax.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Regards.

    Hi

We have been told that if we want to go ahead and get exemption from CIMA foundation then you have to do the audit unit. I'm not sure where that came from though!

Rachel

To get exemptions from the first stage of ACCA and CIMA you just have to complete the whole of technician (including the project).

I think you may have to do audit for CIPFA or ACA but I'm not sure.

Annette

    Hi

For exemption from the first stage of ACCA or CIMA you have to complete the entire level, which is basically all compulsory units plus 2 options.

You dont need specific options for ACCA, CIMA or ACA/ICAEW (though in the case of ACA/ICAEW it helps to go for a tax, audit or both taxes). CIPFA require audit and cash management. ACCA will award exemptions from paper 1.1 and 1.2 for part completion.

Neil
