I haven't checked my AAT letter yet to see what section I failed on but should I appeal if I think I did enough to pass??

Please tell me what you think, I'll now have to wait till December to pass my last AAT exam

By the way hi to everyone at Henley College in Coventry

From what I gather, the appeals process is a waste of time, and just another excuse to get money off you. It is unlikely that your result would be over-turned. I think a way forward is to get the exam paper off the AAT website (the one that you sat in June), and do it in your own time and see how much of it you get right when the answers become available.

When I failed PCR last December, I thought about appealing but when I did the paper again, I saw where I had gone wrong in the exam. I was not surprised that I had failed section 1 after having badly re-done it again, and for section 2, I think that I had not wrote enough for the memo as per AAT standards. I had not understood a few things at the time, and had not revised enough on a certain area, and this was evident in my answers. I saw clearly that it was through my own fault why I failed, especially after having seen the answers.
Not saying that this may be true in your case, but have another go at the paper, see if you can/or do replicate your answers that you wrote at your exam, check the answers, and that should point you in the right direction as to whether you appeal or not.

I know how you feel. I failed DFS on section 2 which I think is a joke. There are 7 questions in Section 1 and only 2 in section 2. I could have handled it if I failed section 1 cause I found that tough.
I was thinking of appealing but to be honest have decided what is the point. Maybe if I take it again it will make me try harder for all the CIMA exams to follow. I have never failed anything before and have always worked really hard. Maybe I needed knocking down a few pegs and this will make me a better student.
In the past I have always revised from past papers but not bothered too much with the books, but that is where all the knowledge really comes from. So I dug out my books, blew the cobwebs off and have started studying again. I am determined not to fail again.

Thanks for your help I think I won't bother appealing as it will cost me an extra £39 just to get it remarked

I'll just resit my last exam in December 2005 and try harder, I know I should pass this time round as I am more determined then ever to pass this exam and finish my AAT

Half a year at college doing an evening course won't kill me lol

Thanks for the advice I will have another go at the paper and when the answers are released I'll compare my answers.

Well done to everyone else that have pass there exams, if you didn't pass then just try and try again like I did you'll get there in the end.
