ACCA Confusion

<BR>Just passed AAT and now going onto ACCA<BR>I have just rang ACCA and they tell me registeration for the Dec exams has closed. How crazy is this, when the AAT results come out a day after the registeration closes on the 15th August. They say I can appeal but there is no guarentee. Can anyone offer any help or let me know if they are appealing ? Thanks

    You can apply to the ACCA for registration before the exams come out. They have extended the deadline for exemptions to the 31 August for AAT students (its normally 31 July).<BR><BR>You can start ACCA in January if your appeal is unsuccessful.<BR><BR>Helen

    If you do a search on "Acca" on this forum there are some other threads which explain this better. But basically I think you had to register before 15th Aug with Acca and then they extended the deadline for AAT students to submit proof of their exam results. So if you didn't register before that they may not allow you to. The deadlines are always really tight, Cima is the same, and you pretty much have to take a gamble and register before your results, risking having paid the fee to Acca unnecessarily if you don't pass. Annette did point out in a previous thread that this only matters if you intend to take exams in December. Some of the colleges/unis run courses over the whole academic year towards exams in June, and this would be okay. From what you said though you wanted to take them in December. Sounds like it might be worth appealing though.

    You can still register and start to study straight away, it just means you won't take the exams until June '06.<BR><BR>This is what I have done.<BR><BR>Please see my previous messages about ACCA.<BR>It might help you to decide.<BR><BR>Lots of luck<BR>Debbi

    im in exactly the same boat as you, thought id wait till i got my results before i started to register for the ACCA! i passed and rang them up only to find out that registration is closed!<BR><BR>i think it is ridiculous as if i didnt pass technician i would be wasting money on registering for ACCA when i wouldnt even be studying it! I have emailed and written to them but its no good just gonna have to wait unitil january to begin studying again
