I am chuffed to bits that I have just passed my Intermediate Level and am going to be starting the technician level in September. I haven' t managed to get in touch with my course tutor yet and was just wondering exactly what the technician level covers? Can anybody help please.

Also, I don't work in private practice, and our company still uses an accountant for all year end returns and everything. Does anyone know if this will affect how I can carry on studying after completing the technician level (that's if I manage to pass!)

Thanks.

There are three compulsory units, which are an extension of what you did at Intermediate - 1 financial and 2 management.

Then there is a compulsory project which involves taking one aspect of your company and suggesting improvements - this will be easier as you work in industry. Working in practice makes the project a bit of a challenge!

Then there are the options - 2 tax, 1 cash management, 1 audit. You have to choose 2.

Whether you can continue studying depends on whether your company is prepared to support you and give you the work you are qualified for. If you did ACCA you could do the accounts and then they would save on accountancy fees - which many people like the idea of!
