REVISING PEV-HELP
Hi Millitread,

I'm not a PEV expert but have you tried looking at the answer paper and seeing how the AAT arrived at their answer. It is only a suggestion, because I've forgot everything on costing and budgeting. Sandy Hood is the expert on this paper but I'm not quite sure what has happened to him - anybody know?

Regards0 -
REVISING PEV-HELP
I am now viewing the answer for the June 2005 paper which I failed. I am seeing where they used the buggeted output figure, multiply by the total of the fixed Overheads absorped I will check other past paper to see if that is it in all cases. I think I still need to know why, I dont really want to use it as a pattern, so changes in the exam cause problem. It gave me a warm time in the exam really did not know if to use hours or the total.0 -

The other source could be to look at a study text and see what they do. Unfortunately, exam patterns do change from sitting to sitting. I have posted another thread concerning my answers to DFS and I have commented on ways to ensure you pass next time. My comments do not just relate to DFS but to all the papers - it is a good technique to get a broad understanding (though not necessarily a detailed understanding) of the syllabus and in the weeks leading up to the exam practice exam style questions. This will do two things. It will get you prepared for the exam and it will also highlight areas where you are weaker and highlight the areas where you are stronger and therefore where you need to develop further.

Good luck for December!0 -

Have you ever used the BPP Assessment Kits? I've used them for intermediate and Technician and found them very helpful for revision purposes. They have practise activities on each separate topic, then full assessments and then finally some specimen exams.(Answers to all chapters are at the back of the book). (They helped me pass first time on each level). I think they cost £9.95 each.

Good Luck in Dec!
0 -

Millitread
1.1 a v June 2005
Calculate the budgeted fixed production overheads for May

We know:-
Fixed production overheads are absorbed using a budgeted OAR per labour hour (line 4)
Budgeted output is: -
Model F 10,000 units requiring 5 labour hours per unit = 50,000 lab hrs
Model H 1,000 units requiring 8 hours per unit. . = 8,000 lab hrs

A total of 58,000 lab hours

The OAR is £6.00 per labour hour

So budgeted fixed production overhead will be:-
58,000hrs x £6.00 = £348,000

Sandy Hood email0 -
