Hi,

At my college we are doing the technician course over 2 years. I thought this was great at first but 2 years seems a long time. Is anyone else doing this course over 2 years?

One good thing is i dont have to worry about any exams in Dec, we have 2 in june 06 and the remaining in june 07.

Andy

hello,
Where I am studying I am planning to do it in one year. However my lecturer did tell all the class last year when we were studying intermediate that many people do do technician over two years.
If you really dont want to do it over two years there is always the option of FTC or distant learning. i have just completed an audit unit with FTC as they didnt do it in my college and I founf it pretty good.
Best of luck!!0 -

My college offers it over both one and two years. I thought I'd do it over one but I'm now doing it over two mainly because of the workload and my many jobs.

If it wasn't for the project I'd have done it in one year but as I haven't had time to do it yet I've taken on the remaining two options as well and will finish next June. I think all eight subjects in two years is much better than trying to squeeze in 6 subjects in one year and I'm more likely to pass everything first time round if I'm not doing too much at once.

Two years isn't that long really.0 -

I did Technician in one year and have never been so exhausted in my life!

I was having to process two kids at the same time but needed to put in about 20 hours a week on top of full time work to keep on top.

whilst I'm glad it's over now I would have done it over two years if that had been an option.
0 -

Hi all

The college I am at offers Technician over 4 terms - Sept 05 to June 06 and then Sept 06 to Dec 06.

I think sits in between what all other colleges offer but I think it is a happy medium. 1 year seems to short a time to cram everything in and 2 years too long.0 -

I did everything in a year including project but it was bit thogh. Better to spread over if you are workloaded with kids.

Arjun0 -

2 Years seems a while if you ask me, depends on your situation and how much time you can devote to studying. I'm planning to do it over 1 year, i did 3 exams in summer which went ok along with that cash management think.

so in the next few months i just have to do the project (ah!) and 1 more exam. I've found it ok but i don't have kids (I think) or anything.0 -

It would've been a lot easier if our tutors had been any good!0 -

Thanks for your comments.

I suppose the 2 yr is the best option for me. (Plus its too late to change now anyways).

I would go through the hassle of changing colleges to do it in one year but it is the project that worries me the most. I dont even know where to begin with it

Thanks
Andy 0 -

It depends on your life style - if you have kids go for two years - if you don't but don't want a social life go for one!0
