Currently working on Unit 7<BR>Index numbers<BR>eg<BR> Price of Bread in Pence Index<BR>2000 51 100.00<BR>2001 56 56/51 x 100 = 109.8<BR>2002 59 59/51x100 = 115.7<BR>2003 62 62/51 x 100 = 121.6<BR><BR>The price of bread had risen by 21.6% from 2000 to 2003. <BR>How is the figure of 21.6% worked out??<BR><BR>Thanks in advance<BR><BR>CB<BR><BR><BR>

    because the price in 2000 was 100 and in 2003 was 121.6. (121.6-100)/100

    Thanks Blue Wednesday, it's that easy.<BR>I am reading too much into this and making it hard on myself, it all seems like a mass of figures that mean nothing that about sums it up for unit 7!!!
