I was fortunate enough to pass the Technician exams this summer, but as my mother became ill soon after and subsequently I'm sad to say died in October, I didn't manage to attend any ceremonies & haven't applied to become MAAT. I need motivation to proceed. Can anyone advise / motivate me?

Re:To become a member
It really is incredibly simple and you don't need the ceremonies, they are just a nice-to-have event to celebrate finishing the course(s) and passing the exams. I didn't go to one as there are not spaces for everybody, and I was happy just to have passed and got membership!
All you need to do is complete the form and get the endorsement of your employer that you've done a year in the technician-related work. Then you can upgrade to full member (from student member) and get another certificate - plus of course those all-important letters after your name! You have earned them, after all, with your hard work to successfully pass NVQ4.
It is worth it to put on your CV and it does show your commitment to keeping the AAT going for the "next generation" of upcoming students, I don't know if employers prefer people to be members but it can't do any harm.0 -

Try writing your name down and add MAAT after it.
If you havent already got letters after your name this will probably be a surprisingly good feeling!
Try adding it to your name and the top of your CV to, another good feeling!
Lets be honest, the feeling of a little power and glory from your hard efforts is nothing to be ashamed of, lol.0
