    Hi Nicky

I sat PEV in June 2005 and passed it, although it was different to the Dec 04 exam I wouldn't say it was any harder, although I know the question format did throw a lot of people on my course.

Good luck for your exams, I've only got DFS to do, this was the one I struggled with in June.

    Regards
    Michelle

    Hi

Yes i also sat the PEV in June 05 and i am re-sitting unfortunately. The reason i found it harder was because of the backward variances - we were only taught these a week before the exam and i never grasped them!! Also we had a sh*t teacher who told me ABC costing was in the PCR exam later that week so i did no revision for it fo i failed both questions!!

Im just working my through all the past papers and reading up on some technical jargon to put in the memo's....good luck everyone for next week, just think it'll all be over this time next week.

    Good luck

    Hi Nicky,

I set this exam in June and was very surprised to find out that i passed.
I must admit when I opened the paper I was absolutely shocked and for the first 10 min just wanted to leave and come back in December. But than I thought that I wasted my day coming here anyway so may as well give it a try. Did not take it seriously, may be that helped :-)

About backwards variances. I just wrote the formula in a normal way and than turned it round so the data I needed was before equal sign.

The most difficult part, as for me, was the last "report". When my friends and I met after the exam and tried to compare our answers for that questions they were very different. I agreed to go ahead with the progect, someone regected it, other asked for more info. So I think in questions like that one thay just looking for ability to represent your opinion and want to see that you understand the situation. It what I think.

But anyway good luck to everybody who take this exam this December. And take it easy its only an exam.

Re:Did anyone sit PEV in Jun 05......

    Hello,

I took the PEV exam last time and yes, it was a lot harder! When I saw some of the questions, I felt physically sick and came out of the exam and cried. (wuss!) I also only finished with 10 minutes to go, which is unheard of in AAT Land, they always assure us that it won't be time pressured.

I had no idea how to approach that last question, so I took a deep breath, did my best and stated my assumptions. I've since spoken to several other people who passed and we all approached it differently so the golden rule is:
    ALWAYS STATE YOUR ASSUMPTIONS.

Hope this helps, and the very best of luck to you.
