Re:Different types of variation
Hi amelie
A cyclical variation is one that has a bit of a pattern to it but isn't as definite as seasonal.
An example of a cyclical variation would be the trade cycle. It goes through boom, decline, recession and recovery. It always goes through this pattern but you can't really determine when it is going to be. Unlike say a seasonal variation where for example you know the shops are going to be busier this time of year because of Christmas.
Hope this helps.
Good luck with PCR. Studying for it myself at the moment.
Can only answer this 'cause I did a past paper where it was asking about stratified sampling!!! Then had to go and read my text book again.
Anyway, good luck

Re:Different types of variation
Hi,
Many thanks for that, I will learn that now. How did you find PEV, I found it quite hard!0 -
Re:Different types of variation
I thought that Section 1 had some really horrible bits in it. Task 1.3 which was the indices I thought was really horrible. I kept reading the question and didn't really know what they were looking for as an answer.
Thought Section 2 was kinder than it has been in previous years though. Especially compared to June 05.

Yes I though sectin 2 was easier as well but found section 1 quite hard really! Nevermind only PCR to go now! Good luck!0
