Outsourced payroll

Hi
Can anyone give me an idea of how much they charge for payroll. I've been looking into it and it seems to vary from £4.00 per payslip to £1.75 per payslip.
Or from £30.00 for 1-5 employees to £10.00 for 1-5 employees.
I'm seeing a new client today, part of which will be running a monthly payroll, all of the other payrolls I run are at clients premises so I include it with my hourly rate for bookkeeping.
Thanks for any advice you can give.
Sue

Re:Outsourced payroll
Hi Sue
At the practice where I do some outsourcing the current charge is £1.75 per payslip, although from April I think this will be going up to £2.00 per payslip. Also they charge extra for the year end filing eg P60's, P11Ds etc. But they do not charge for P45's
Hope this helps.

Re:Outsourced payroll
Hi Michelle
Thanks for the advice.
That sounds more likely than the £4.00 a payslip, I don't want to price myself out of the job.

Re:Outsourced payroll
Hi Sue
I was wondering if you could give me an idea of how you set about setting your fee? I have got my first client but I am unsure as to how to structure my fees. It would involve basic monthly book keeping and then final accounts, there will be some payroll eventually and tax returns.
If you are able to advise my email address is yvette.goodridge@gmail.com
Thanks

Re:Outsourced payroll
Hi Yvette
Sorry I've been really busy this week, so only just noticed your message.
I spoke to qualified Accountants locally and to other people who I know have contact with bookkeepers to see what they recommended and set my fees on their suggestions.
I quote my fees on an hourly rate, but from my experience Clients would prefer you to give a set monthly fee, which at this stage I'm finding it too difficult to estimate.
