Congratulations to everyone who passed this time. I passed DFS and now only have the two cost ones and personal tax left to do in the summer (get really confused with all the initials of them all!)
But I haven't picked up a book for two weeks - am really stoked to have passed DFS but cannot get going with the others. Someone please tell me that if I don't do something soon I'll fail all 3 and have to resit!
Thanks

Will that do?

Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Hi Bobby
I'm in the same situation, just passed DFS but seem to have just lost my motivation... trying to get this Cash management module out the way so can get on with the tax module for June exam..... but I keep finding nicer distractions like tv, going out, riding my horse, and nice bottles of red wine!
I have decided that as of Monday I'm going to force myself to do set hours for studying..... not sure how i'll make myself yet though, so if you think of any good ideas.....
Are you doing home study?

Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Hi Bobby
I know what you mean. I passed DFS but could not concentrate on anything else over the past 2 weeks until the results came through. Its going to be panic stations over the weekend to catch up before Monday.
Are you the "Bobby" who does AAT at Norwich CC on Tuesdays.0 -
Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Well, I have 3 exams in June, plus a probable re-sit (to get PCR out of the way and revise it with PEV) and the a re-sit in December (as 5 would be overkill in one week).
I am also due to hand in my 2nd draft of my project on Monday, so I have taken tomorrow off work to get sorted and also study.
So my best motivation is I know how much work is ahead of me and the earlier I get on with it, the better (hopefully) I will get! 8)0 -
Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
i'm really struggling for motivation to!! I haven't picked up a book since early December and i do home study. All i've done is passed a few exams FRA,ECR,PEV and PCR and i wanted to get everything else done for june! This may be ambitious i'm staring to think. S'pose i just try get DFS and BTC outta the way and worry about the rest of the crap after june!

Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Hi Guys,
I have completed all my levels last year and elected as full member this January. Very happy.
For the motivation bit, yes there is plenty of time from now to June but my experience is there is no time left because when I did 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 of ACCA last December I was really lazy and was thinking that there is lot of time till December but time flew and I never knew that there was hell of a lot to study. I had a dream of achieving highest marks in 2.2 and 2.3 but that dream remained as a dream.
I did all 3 papers good and sure that they all will be out of my way but never play with time and my advice to you all is to start spending some time with your studies specially those who are sitting 3 exams in June as I have already completed 2.5 studying at home so there will only be 2.4 and 2.6 to study in the college.
Many congratulations to those who have passed and never give it up for those who are unsuccessful at this time because you will do it next time and also this is not end of the world.

Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Hi Bobby
Its Michelle. That baby must arrive soon.Perhaps your motivation should be that you will not have any time when it does arrive!(or as my daughter has just added"no time for the next 18 years"). Louise,Sara and Marie all passed DFS.0 -
Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Message for Bobby Regarding studying PEV, PCR and PT Computations
You will need to set yourself a timetable from now to the exam, showing clearly all the days, considering when you are most alert (morning or nights), and write in your study for then, also make sure you are studying all 3 papers at once, don't finish the study text for the other and start on the other, because it's strange but the brain seems to disregard the previous information you absorbed. Once you have this sorted, stick to it and tick off the syllabus once you have completed a section.
Once you have all the theory from the study text (Osbourne)and have answered all the questions in there. You must get as many past papers as possible and attempt every question in that. Once you have completed all the questions in both sections in the past paper, you should compare your answers with the answers (don't peep before finishing the whole paper). When you have finished doing all the papers, redo each and every one of them under exam conditions, so clean desk, with a watch nearby, no distractions.
Only then will you feel confident that you can pass the paper, get the theory in you, do the pass papers and go for that exam with your head held high.0 -

Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Bobby
I had to teach myself the PTC as they dont do it at my college but i picked up the book a week before the exam and just worked through that with some past papers and passed and im not someone who usually picks up things easily i failed the class taught one on PCV so have to do that one again in June!0 -
Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Hi,
In December I took DFS which was taught at college and PTC and BTC which I had to teach myself. Motivation was seriously lacking but a week before the exam I got off my backside because I didn't want to have to resit and pay even more money!!! It worked as i passed all three. If you're expecting then you really need to get motivated else you'll fail and then won't have time to study 'cos of the new babe.
Good Luck!

Re:Somebody MOTIVATE ME please!!
Hi
I'm home study and use osbourne books, so for motivation I sit down and work out how many chapters I need to do of the tutorial and work books and how many weeks I have to the exam - leaving myself some time for past papers. I pop the chapter numbers in my diary so when I slack off I feel guilty that I'm behind (bit swotty maybe but it works 4 me).
When you actually count the weeks June suddenly doesn't seem so far away and the panic kicked my butt into action for PEV and PCR.
