CPD - Whats That!!

This is going to sound soooo stupid i know and you'll all think im too dumb to be even doing this course!!

But what the hell is CPD im having a guess at Career Personal Development?!??

But what does it mean....I dont understand what its for!!

Am i missing something here? I've never had it mentioned to me by BPP and have never read anything about it except when i seen it on the AAT website and thought wats that!!

Please dont be mean to me lol im just thick!

    I think it's career and professional development. Full members of the AAT have certain requirements regarding CPD in order to maintain their membership. Us students don't have to worry.

    I only know this because someone asked our tutor about it last week :)

    CPD is continuing professional development.

    Basically, when you have passed AAT and are a full member you will need to complete a certain amount of CPD hours per year to maintain your membership.

    The idea being that, as you are no longer a student reading texts etc, you keep up to date with current standards and practice by attending courses, seminars etc. These count towards your CPD hours.

    You complete a CPD log to show your CPD hours completed.

    Only fellow members and self employed members need do any CPD. There is no manadtory requirement fo standard members.

    CPD is as I said, but is only mandatory to fellow & self-employed members - as stated by Neil H.

    It isn't required, but I will still update my own CPD log in 'my account' once I am qualified.
