Re: the respect for other people bit - I just waffled on about showing consideration for others by answering phones if they are away from their desk and taking a message. Not interrupting people if they are in meetings or appear busy. In our office we work to very tight deadlines and everyone has to produce things when according to a timetable so I mentioned that as well, i.e one person not meeting their deadlines affects everyone else.

Re: organising work area - I drew a plan of my work area and the office as a whole showing things like location of fire exits, lockable storage for confidential files, making sure stuff was not lying on the floor creating a trip hazard.

    Hope this helps you

Got my partner to do it in some wizzy software thing that office planners use ! Has icons for fire extinguishers and printers and stuff. Can't remember the name of it - sorry.

I really don't think the AAT want anything fancy. To be honest with you, the majority of my project was complete waffle (I thought the whole thing a complete waste of time - bugger all to do with accounts and totally patronising. I rushed it together at the last minute just so i could pass Techncian and get my letters). But I passed H&S with no revisions so it must have been OK !

I picked up a free trial version of MS Visio (which I suspect is what you're referring to) to do an office plan. Gave up in the end as it was too complicated and I was wasting too much time on it. I just took some pictures.

I work for myself so have no colleagues I have to show respect for - just as well some would say :)

I completely agree about this unit being a complete waste of time. Mine was a load of bullshit rattled off in a weekend just days before it was due but it passed OK.
