Hi Everyone,
I have just had my costing simulation at college. I think that I have passed but in the run up to the simulation I was revising in the college canteen. In all the ensuing panic I have lost my file which contains all my classwork for the year (but not any of the work for my portfolio). I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO? Should I:-
a) Write up my file again using the textbook for costing and reports and returns (this is what we have covered so far).
b) Borrow someone else's file and just copy the notes both our tutors gave us from class.
c) Ask my tutor for a set of condensed notes.
d) leave it because I have just completed Units 6 and 7 and we have just started unit 5 so there is not very much of unit 5 in my file.

PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi,

    Have you asked in the Canteen, your tutor and anyone on your course in case they have seen it or it has been handed in somewhere?? This once happened to me and I ended up having to rewtire loads of my work as most of the work I lost was Portfolio Work (I was gutted to say the least.) But at least you haven't lost your Portfolio Work.
    I would ask your tutor if you can have some notes off them, I'm sure if you tell them what happened they'd understand.

    Hi Nicola,
    I have asked in the canteen and as they did not know where it was I was directed to security.Security do not know where it is (i.e. it has not been handed in) but they are going to keep an eye out for it and I will go back tomorrow to see if it has been handed in. I asked my tutor and he has not seen it so it was not left in the classroom. As for the other students on my course, they had all gone home by the time I realized that my file was missing. I will ask around on Thursday whcih is our next class but my hopes are fading fast. As you say, at least it was not portfolio work. Even though kmy file has all of my Unit 6 and 7 work and I have almost completed both units I still want to keep copies of my work. If it does not turn up I will definitely get some more notes, either from my tutor or from one of my classmates. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Jayne,
    That is really bad luck but hopefully the folder will turn up.
    The good news is that you only need to keep your portfolio.
    However, some notes will obviously be helpful when it comes time to revise for the exam (assuming that you have not already taken it.     You don't by any chance teach Payroll as well do you?? If you do would you be able to email me copies of notes which you hand out to Students please!!

    Sorry no - there is a limit to my talents. Seriously we tried to satrt the payroll course here but got virtually no takers, so we have no expertise in that field.
