A PERSON WHO IS BUYING A LEASEHOLD BUSINESS HAS BEEN ASKED FROM THE LANDLADY OF THE PROPERTY FOR FINANCIAL REFERENCES. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST WHERE TO GET THEM FROM. THE PROSPECTIVE TENNENT HAS NOT RENTED ANYTHING BEFORE AS SHE OWNS HER OWN PROPERTY.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS

How about the bank??0 -
Re:HELP PLEASE - FINANCIAL REFERENCES
THAT IS WHAT I SUGGESTED, BUT APPARENTLY THE WOMAN AT THE BANK DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT SHE WAS BEING ASKED FOR.0 -
Re:HELP PLEASE - FINANCIAL REFERENCES
Please don't post in capitals - it looks like you're shouting!!
Often rental agencies ask for employer references etc to be sure that the rent is affordable.

Re:HELP PLEASE - FINANCIAL REFERENCES
If I was lucky enough to own a business freehold and was renting it out to a business person I would want a reference from a) the bank, b) the accountant and c) their previous landlord (if they had one).
If it was a start up situation i would ask for a financial guarantee from someone - who???? i dont know.

Re:HELP PLEASE - FINANCIAL REFERENCES
Thanks for the suggestions. Managed to speak to somoeone at the bank who knows what they are talking about. Apart from that we don't know who to get. It will be my fiance's business. I will be the accountant and there are no previous landlords.0 -
Re:HELP PLEASE - FINANCIAL REFERENCES
The bank alone should be fine - at the end of the day the landlord's prime concern is that they will get their money.0
