Hi Guys,

I wonder if you can help me, I am doing the AAT Foundation level which i started in October with BPP, i am due to sit the exam in june as normal but i am very scared that i am not ready for it, i am so behind on my portfolio its unreal, i study with BPP at home and with a full time job that is very demanding i am finding it very hard to fit time in for studying!

Can i choose to sit the exam in December instead? And will this give me longer to hand in all my portfolio for marking?? I have only sat two skills tests so far and one i think i have completely failed.

Im very unsure of what to do... if your not competent in a skills test do you back it up with your portfolio or do you have to resit completely?

I do want to complete this course but i would much rather take more time than having to resit the whole course again.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

    Hi,

Its a personal choice when you sit the exam and if you don't think your up to it, defer it until December then that will give you plenty of time to prepare yourself properly. That way you won't waste any of your time preparing for it, I know I entered the exam unprepared and I failed it and even though I told my tutor that I didn't feel ready for it he said that I was, and I failed section one but passed section two.

My advice is wait until your ready and only you know when your ready don't be forced into something your not ready for.

That's the good thing about home study - you can do it at your own pace! It is better to take your time and get it right, than rush it and not pass.

Have you already entered the June exams? Don't worry if you have - you can defer to December, but you will have to pay a deferral fee.

Give student services a call and they will sort it out.

Yep! You should just let them know to keep them updated really, but I've never let them know when I am sitting and it has never caused me any problems.

The submission dates they send for the skills tests etc are just a guide - you don't have to stick to that.
