Please Help!

Can anyone advise me on the best workbooks to use for studying PCR and DFS

I know that osborne don't have answers in their workbooks

    Hi,

    I have only used the Osborne books and I thought that they were excellent, your right about them not having the answers in the back though, but if you are a member of the MSN groups (speak to amanda on here I think she goes as amanda258) you should be able to get access to the answers or for a small fee you can buy the answer booklet yourself from the Osborne website.

    BPP books are okay, but tend to contain more than you need to know and several mistakes have been spotted! The last thing you need is to think you have something right and then get all confused because the book is wrong!

    Osbourne books I'd go for - I'm sure they have some of the answers in and the ones which don't have answers you can easily get.

    I love Osborne books and usually recommend them. I think they are much clearer at explaining things. However my college believes the Osborne books didn't go into enough depth for DFS.

    They recommended that we buy the Osborne tutorial book and instead of also buying the Osborne workbook (the one with questions but no answers) we buy the BPP question book. I thought the questions it asked were very similar to exam questions and it had sample exam at the back that was altered to meet the current syllabus.

    Where do you get the BPP question book from for DFS? I don't know whether to wait and see if anyone produces one for the new standards as I am not doing the exam until December.

    Any thoughts?

    Found the osbourne books go so far and premier training give you workbook answers. Just hold back some assignment answers but they are happy to send them when you have had a go yourself first.

    I study at college. We use Osbourne Texts. Although they are generally good, I sat BTC last December and we found subsequently that not only was the treatment of Sched A (rental) income was wrong (ie after the December exam) but that the book didn't even cover HMRC penalties (surprise, surprise it turned up in the exam).

    I haven't used osbourne books so can't comment, but at college we use BPP books, there is more information than you need in them. I have found the course companion very good though.
