Unit 21 - Am i stupid or something?

Excuse me for being dumb but surely everybody knows how to turn a computer on?? How the hell can you prove you know how to do that? Surely its common sense?

Im trying to get this unit done as quick as poss but am struggling proving anything? How can i show my passwords are secure, and only i know them? And ensure all data is kept safe and discs are securley located?

Our server is backed up by Dat Tapes which i take home with me! surely thats not very secure, nobody uses floppy disks anymore do they?

HELP!! Will i fail if i just state the obvious without much detail :?

    Why not ask somebody at work to write you a Witness Statement to prove that you can do the things mentioned above.

    Ive done that for part of the unit...can i do it for all of it or will that be like cheating?

    Hi Sam

    If its any help, i thought much the same as you, but what i did was i printed off lots of 'printed screens' with examples of saving a document, opening a file, closing a file, exiting software etc etc etc. I got a good feed back from my tutor and the internal verifer, so it should work for you too.i also typed a few notes about how these tasks are carried out so at least they could see that you understood what you were doing.

    Thats basically what ive done...only evidence ive got is screen shots, and a witness statement!

    This unit does seem completely pointless to me!

    I had a problem with that aswel. I did a mixture of signed witness statements and print screens. Also write paragraphs on passwords etc to prove you know it. Its all you can do really.
