:? Hi there,
Is any one out there actually worried about the financial exam. I have tried to learn all the IAS`s but cannot get my head round them.
I have completed the example on the website on more than 1 occasion and just worry I am not getting enough practice in. does any one have any more examples.

I have pieces of paper all around my room. My boyfriend im going mad. The worst thing is, i think he's learning them quicker than me! He thinks its hilarious but i can't seem to see the funny side.
Good Luck for the exam and thanks for your help!

Re:exams
i know what you mean. I dont know if it will help but my boyf asks me about the ias`s and I give him answers. He also comes up with silly little saying to remember them we came up with some in class as well e.g
37 - reason 37 at morrisons - provisions
33 - looks like earings - earnings
7 - riverseven flows through shropshire - cash flow
16 - bike sheds @ school - property plant & machinery
thats a few for you to think about - it makes them more fun
good luck

Re:exams
Thats the way i have tried to remember them as well.
Also an extra one - IAS 17 Leases - You have to be 17 to finance a car!! Some people come up with really great ones. I suppose its one way of making it a little bit more fun!
Right, now i have learnt which IAS is called what, now its time to learn what the actually mean!!!! Is there a light at the end of that long, dark tunnel i wonder???!!!

Re:exams
These techniques you are using are called mnemonics (memory techniques) and they constitute about 40% of my successes to date. They are FANTASTIC for learning performance ratios, eg
Gross Profit %
Imagine a gross profitable man sat on his revenue
These work due to the brain retaining pictures and fun animations a hell of alot better than boring text. There is lots of info on the net, search google for mnemonics to get some inspiration.
Best of luck to you all
