Unit 3 Simulation, Weasley Supplies

Hi,

I have been given a practice exam paper for Unit 3, Weasley Supplies.

Now I have gone as far as I can and am confident, until I hit task 7. Now it tells me to balance the petty cash book and reconcile it with the money I have in the tin. Thats not a problem but there are no entries in the petty cash book, so how can i check it balances? I have read the question/answer book over and over again and can't see anything for the entries! Am i being a total idiot or am i missing something!!

I have been on the msn groups and in the answers there are entries - where do you get them from??? So confused....just when I thought everything was ok...it goes horribly wrong! Roll on June 13th when exam finishes - gonna have a party! lol :wink:

    Its ok peeps - just answered my own question!!!

    If anyone is wondering the same - its an error in the exam - same question is in the Osbourne books - so I can now balance my petty cash book!!

    The same happened to me, at college I was given the same paper to do over the easter holidays. I thought I was missing something and was looking for ages to see where I could get the petty cash entries from.

    I even brought the paper to work to ask my boss if it was me or was there information missing.

    I am sure you will do well in your exams.

    I am doing my unit 3 simulation tomorrow!!! I too have had problems with practise papers where info. has been omitted or entered incorrectly. Its annoying when you spend ages looking for something you needn't have!Good luck with your studies.

    I completed my simulation last night, I found it quite difficult on the journal entry part, as I didn't know anything about contra entries. There were two different simulations in our class, there was one simulation which was quite difficult and covered everything.

    The second was easier and the people doing that simulation need to answer additional questions.

    Our lecturer said the exam would be easier than the simulation.

    I just know something will crop up that I haven't learnt but I suppose its not the end of the world!

    I shall learn contra entries - so thanks for the tip.

    Hi Lou,

    Just to let you know how the unit 3 sim went! It was a lot more intense than I had imagined and most of the class struggled with trial balance!! I just said to myself that if I didnt hurry
    and read everything THOROUGHLY I would not slip up!! We get results this week so fingers crossed!!

    Just got this stupid portfolio stuff to get my head around now......

    Hi Karen

    Thats fab - yes Tuesday is looming. Kinda studied but I think I am all studied out so to speak! I have done all the practice sims so can't do much more than that! Yes journals through me out but like you said read and all should be ok!

    Hope your results are good!

    The portfolio is a nightmare - Just finalising everything together now!
