PEV exam paper dec 2005. help on some answers

can anyone explain Task 1.2.. stuck on how we get to the answers. also Task 2.2. The advertising sales is 4200x1.05.. where does the 1.05 come from.. also 1900x0.97... where does the 0.97 come from

    Hi Abida.

    In the additional data it tells you that revenue can be increased by 5%, and that wastage can be reduced by 3%.

    hmmm. i still dont understand how the 1.05 and the 0.97 came about... what was the calculation?

    100% + 5% = 105%

    100% - 3% = 97%
