Really feel as if this is the place where i am going to fail me exams as in every paper it asks you to make reference to a certain IAS and say how it is treated. Been on the helpful summary page of IAS's but even this is too detailed, If anyone knows of anything that has a couple of bullet points for each one we need then i'd be soooo grateful if you can help me! :cry:

    Hello! This probably won't be much help to you, but I've found the best way to learn them is to put the IAS number on one side of an index card and it's name on the other side. Keep asking yourself them, or get someone else to ask you them until you know all the names. Then just by knowing the name you'll know what the IAS is about and you should be able to quote a couple of important things about each one. Our tutor did give us 'shortened notes' on them if this helps you? If you give me your e mail address I can send you them.

    If you would like the notes then just let me know what your e mail address is and I can send them. Just as a warning though, the cashflow IAS isn't on there - as it's just cash flow layouts. The notes also don't include IFRS3, IAS27 & IAS28 as our tutor didn't shorten these for us, so can't really help much with these.

    From what I can remember you don't need to quote the details of the standards word perfect but you need to know how they are applied to different scenarios - obviously this means you need to know the basics of each standard which you probably know already. A lot of people say if you can't remember the actual title and number simply say something along the lines, 'the standard which deals with this states ....'. I felt that this was simply throwing away easy marks and in my effort to memorise title and number made a few simple bookmarks on card which had only title and number on them and used them constantly on the run up to exams. I tested myself and asked others to test me, I also left one in the bathroom and found that whenever anyone went there they would emerge and fire a question at me. It's surprising just how quick you can learn them this way.
