Notification of PCR Exam Remarking

I have just rang Student Services and asked about how we would be notified about the remarking. I was told that ONLY if your result changed would you be notifed on Friday 26th May. So I am afraid to say that if you don't hear anything I'm afraid the resit is still to do. I think it would have been better if we had been notified even if the result hadn't changed!!!

Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
I totally agree. I was told it would be in writing - eg a letter so if I haven't received anything Friday I am going to be wondering if it's still a fail or if it's just been stuck in the post.......In my case more likely to still be a fail but it would be nice to actually be told either way.....

Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
I also do agree. It would be nice if AAT informs everyone who might be affected by PCR review, irrespective of pass or fail. I hope someone at AAT is listening to us.

Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
I put an appeal in on the 15th March, I can not believe that it has taken this long to find out one way or another whether or not I have to retake the exam. As you mentioned I have been waiting for the post to arrive for the last 3 weeks, still haven't heard anything. I've felt well stressed out as I am also taking two other exams and this not knowing doesn't give me much confidence. I think that I will proberly have to resit the exam, so 3 exams for me.....!!0 -
Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
I spoke to the AAT last week and was told the problem is task 2.1D. I was
and disgusted to be told we would not be refunded our appeal money. I can't remember the exact words he said but he was basically saying that the reason we are having our paper looked at is because it was such a low pass rate.
If that's the case why is it just task 2.1d? I spoke to my tutor on monday and was told there are only 700 people having their paper reconsidered.
My tutor told my class that the problem with the paper is that task 2.1d's question is ambiguos. If this is the case, this is the AAT's fault and we should be refunded!
I agree that we should be told either way.

Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
hi all,
I agree, after finding I was up for re-marking its been like torture. Will it change, won't it, don't really need all this before exams. now it will be is the post late. I think all re-marks should be informed either way. Also now I wish they had just re-marked without telling us and just informed those that had a changed result- this would have saved so much confusion and wondering/hoping when I think we are all at the moment under some sort of pressure as exams are due.

Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
I totally agree. Stress is an understatement at the moment. I have decided I'm going to ring the AAT at 9 am tomorrow to find out either way. Being a bank holiday, we couldn't ring them til Tuesday to check if nothing arrives in tomorrows post.
I'm having major problems retaining what I'm revising at the moment. My brain feels as though it's about to burst! Is anyone else feeling like this?0 -
Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
I received my appeal money back just before Easter. I've got college today so hopefully my tutor may have heard something. Otherwise I will also be phoning the AAT tomorrow morning to find out what is going on... Why hasn't anyone from the AAT posted something on here to stop us all wondering what is going on, how are we going to be told, are we definitely going to be told by 26th May??? I just have so many questions I could ask.0 -
Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
I agree totally with everyone. I was informed by my tutor that my paper was being reviewed. This whole matter is a total shambles. It's alright for the AAT to advise you to continue revising for the PCR but do they realise how fustrating this is. Firstly no one was informed and then when there was confirmation no one has been given any details. I was told yesterday that only people that pass will be informed. How bizzare is that? The waiting is torture and i have not been able to concerntrate on any revision. Sorry for all the moaning but i am sure there is many out there feeling the same0 -

Subject: Re: Exams Queries - email reply
Dear Rachel
Thank you for your e-mail.
The review is drawing to a close so we aim to inform all students who are on the reviews list, of the outcome by next week (week beginning 29 May 2006).
You are advised to continue with your studies/revision during this period.
We understand that this is a tense time for students so thank you for your patience.
Kind regards

Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
Hi Kez,
My thought exactly, this is torture. I think aat should make a post on the forum so everybody knows what is going on. It seems so many people have been told different things. This is really not helping anyone at the moment. Lets just hope that all of this trauma will be worthwhile!!!!0 -

Re:Notification of PCR Exam Remarking
I have today been informed that only randomly selected papers were re-marked.
Does anyone know if this was true and if so why should it be such a lottery?0
