8 Days to go now peeps! :shock:

    Don't be scared - I am sure you will do fine and know more than what you think. I am very nervous too but trying to remain positive :)

    Skidz, you'll be fine, just take your time reading the questions, like immense said, you'll know more than you think.

    Yes good luck everyone! Nerves can be a good thing they can make us more aware and read the questions thoroughly instead of scanning them quickly! (My usual trick!!)

    Whilst its nerve racking I am also looking forward to saying I have done it, completed the whole year and didn't quit (also my usual trick!!)

    Good luck to everyone for Tuesday! We all deserve to pass this after all the hard work we have done!

    Stay calm, read the questions TWICE! take your time (we have plenty of it) no point rushing it! remmember PEARLS when doing the trial balance.....

    Just wondering...other than the obvious i.e calculator/pen/ruler/tippex/student ID card or photo identity, what else do we need to take with us? i cannot find my letter with my desk number on it does that matter?? :oops:

    we need id? eh i didnt know that :? also whats pearls please? and 3.25 hours to sit this exam...wow its going to be hot lol but it means we will have plenty of time right :D x

    My tutor told us to take our student ID cards with us, anybody else been told this?

    PEARLS

    P= Purchases
    E= Expenses
    A= Assets

    all above are DEBITS in the trial balance

    R= Revenue Received
    L=Liabilitys
    S=Sales

    all above are CREDITS in the trial balance

    IE.

    Wages/Rent/Rates = Expenses = Debit Trial Balance

    PL Control Account/Loans = Liabilitys = Credit Trial Balance

    SL Control Account/Motor Vehicles = Assets = Debit Trial Balance

    I have found this method really helps when doing the trial balance...

    wow that has really helped thanks, theres just one thing that i always get confused with when putting items onto the trial balance and thats the petty cash control balance, am i right in saying that it goes as a debit seen as the imprest etc is a debit in the petty cash account. i think i need to look at wages control too as i missed the lesson it and my tutor doesnt have the time. oh well if i get that bit wrong there is nothing i can do :? x

    Well the petty cash should really never be a credit balance as in reality in a business there should always be money in the tin. Petty Cash = Expense = Debit Trial Balance...

    I would take some ID on the day just incase...

    We were also told to take our Student ID card but this was to save us getting a photo for the Exam attendance docket. I would assume a driving licence with your photo & address would surfice & some original AAT documentation with your membership number & name & address on. But prob best to check with your exam venue.

    As far as Wages Control Account goes there is a good article in this months AAT Magazine - interesting that they have included it as a Foundation Revision topic!!
