Re:AAT Foundation Exam Past Mark?
Hi Scott,
I asked my tutor and she said you only have to get 70% of the paper right. Hope that helps. Good luck with your exam

The AAT do not announce the pass mark before the exam. They see how people have done before deciding on the final pass mark.

Hi
I agree with Scotty on this one, it sounds as if your tutor has gone for a (rather high) 'ball park' figure which prbably wasnt a very sensible thing to do. At exam times (on any course/qualification, accounting and otherwise) there are always rumours about pass marks, marking strategies, examination methods etc and they do nothing but give candidates something extr to worry over.
Generaly in an AAT assessment you will need to show a good level of competance throughout the peper on each task. Although a poor performance in one question may be compensated by a good performance in another, you need to pass both sections of the paper, its not just about the overall mark.

Re:AAT Foundation Exam Past Mark?
Hi
my tutor told me there was not an actual pass mark -like in the simulations?
It is all about showing your competance. Also I agree with Neil as I have been told if you make a mistake on one part eg: calculating a figure wrong - so long as that incorrect figure is carried through the paper correctly you only get marked down for the initial error.
Hope this helps

Re:AAT Foundation Exam Past Mark?
I agree. I heard that they assess how everybody has done before deciding on a pass mark. My tutor told us nobody has ever passed with under 50% and no-one has ever passed with over 80% but generally if you get about 60% youre safe.
Good luck to everyone taking the exam

Re:AAT Foundation Exam Past Mark?
Again, i think 60% is a dangerous assumption to make.
Students should concentrate on getting as many marks as possible, do your best on every question, and avoid getting hung up on how the papers are marked.
Scott.
P.S. I think you mean that no-one has FAILED with more than 80%0 -
Re:AAT Foundation Exam Past Mark?
again i have been told that you are allowed certain errors in each section / task0 -
Re:AAT Foundation Exam Past Mark?
When i did the mock exam i got 66% in the first section and 76% in the second. my tutor marked me incompetent. she said you have to get like 80 90%. most people in my class got that mark though, so i was well paranoid but i feel happy now ive done it.

Hi, But my tutor told that pass mark is 90% and I heard from some one is 60% and your tutur said 70% which one is correct?0 -
Re:AAT Foundation Exam Past Mark?
Nobody knows what the pass mark is, nor do they know how their papers will be marked.
Put it behind you and enjoy your summer.
