I'm pretty sure everyone here would have been calm and done extremely well today - having just started the ball rolling with my course I will too be sitting exams soon enough and am glad I stumbled across these forums.
I hope everyone gets the results they want... good luck and fingers crossed for you all. :-)

Re:Well?... How did it go?
well i finished in just over 45 minutes and was just checking through it after for 10 mins. I thought it was pretty easy. I got abit stuck on the Journal questions but i always do.
In fact the hardest part of it all was finding the college where the exams were being held.
Hope everyone else did well and all the girls in my class to.

Re:Well?... How did it go?
I have just arrived from my AAT exam, and i have to say that it was easy, but i did strugle with the trial balance that didn't wanted to balance... but it did at the end...
It was just a matter of paying attention to the questions and evderything went fine.

I've done exacly this some way..should be ok:)))thanks0 -

Re:Well?... How did it go?
Mine went ok!! My trial balance was wrong to start with, but it balanced the second time I looked at it..
I was done in around an hour and then looked at it again for about 20mins - just as well I did as I had put something the wrong way round and didn't notice until I re-checked!! Doh!!
Sale with cash i did
DR Cash Book/Bank
CR VAT
CR Sales
Dishonoured Cheque:
DR SLCA
CR Bank/Cash Account (From what I remember!!)
You have to take the money out of the bank and out of the SLCA so you would have done the opposite of the original entry!!
Marta I am sorry but I cannot remember the journal entries...
Hope you all did fine - I am sure we will all do good
Thank god it is over

Re:Well?... How did it go?
For the reason on the last part where the PLCA and Subsidiary ledger didn't balance I put that the รยฃ395 discount received had probably been entered twice in the subsidiay but I was nervous about putting this as the answer on all the previous papers is usually that it has been missed from the subsidiary.
Did anyone else put the same as me?0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
Hi CTD
Yeah I put the same as it was different to the past papers. As you said - i was a bit nervous but couldn't think of any other reason!!0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
I found the PlB paper fine. I noticed for section 1
that there were fewer transaction to do compared to the 2005 Papers. Only question which caused a bit of doubt was the type of documents issued.
Fingers cross hope everyone passed.

Re:Well?... How did it go?
I think I have passed but inexplicably (it seemed!) my trial balance was 30k out, and i couldn't find it for the life of me! was very annoying. i thought maybe it was something to do with the payments received from customers, and with the discount, but i really thought i'd done that right.
I am slightly worried having also got a few questions in section 2 wrong, but my gut feeling is that I passed. Can anyone speak from experience having read about my TB?
Also, anywhere on here from Preston College?0 -

Re:Well?... How did it go?
Hi, my TB was 30k out too. It turned out i'd transposed some numbers in the VAT account, which corrected it.
Although I balanced, I have a sinking feeling that my Bank TB entry was a credit, so I think I must have stuffed it up!0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
As far as I can remember the bank should have been recorded as a credit. I'm sure thats what mine was and my TB balanced. Spoke to a couple of people after the exam and my balance was the same as theirs so I'm hopeful for part 1 anyway! Not a lot we can do about it now, its over, time to relax and pat ourselves on the back for all our hard work whatever the outcome!!
Fingers crossed for everyone!0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
I think we've probably passed, but I'm really annoyed with myself because of the trial balance. if i'd got that i would be relaxing and enjoying summer now, but instead i didn't and worrying a little. suppose it is more practice if i had to revise it all again for a re-sit, and i'd feel confident about it0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
hi,
can somebody tell me what the documents are?Question was in the section 2
thanks0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
AndrewH Im at Preston College too!
Trial balance went ok, balanced ok so hopefully section 1 was ok.
A few questions on section 2 I have my doubts about but I can't do anything about it now! Fingers crossed  :shock:0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?

Re:Well?... How did it go?
Tracey

Re:Well?... How did it go?
Thank goodness for that sharon I thought this paper was horrific lol0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
I cant recall section 2 properly coz I was so flustered at the trial balance!0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
was the bank rec straight forward i think i messed it up0 -
Re:Well?... How did it go?
i think the bank rec was fine, i was fine with most, just forgot what the documents were called in section 2, apart frothe first one, haha. at least others had trouble with the TB, makes me feel less thick. so if the bank entry was a credit, with a 30k difference , if i remember rightly that wouldn't have sorted it? i put it as a debit
There's also the thought that it could be balanced but with incorrect entries so, i shouldn't feel too bad.
So, Sharon, which are you in? I'm in Ed's on Mondays
