    Don't know about anyone else or was it just me being dim but I got a neck ache trying to do my apportionment and allocations, I thought the page might have been perforated to help but it wasn't.....

    Who recommended that the company should go ahead with the investment ? I thought it should until I re-read the question about the company policy

    Yeah I did the same thing till I went back over the paper and re-read it - so glad I did!

    What did everyone get for the OAR question. I wasn't that confident with my answer. I can't exactly remember what my answer was but it was along the lines of ร‚ยฃ0.005 or ร‚ยฃ0.008. Anyone else get the same?

    Hmm I can't actually remember and it was only yesterday. I think one of my percentages may have been something point 77 and I think the other one might have worked out as a whole number.

    I got about 43%ish for my mos, but given what i've read about other answers i wouldn't bet on it.

    im sorry i chickend out of taking this exam in june decided i needed more time so i only have the fcr tomorrow

    I'm pretty sure the cost in the apportionment question was light & power and one was rent, I decided to use floor space as the basis of apportionment for both as only two of the centres had machine hours and of course all five require light & power of some sort!! Plus i'm sure I seen the same kind of apportionment being used in past exams I completed for revision. All calculations worked out really nice for me too, no decimal places and lots of 0's which is always a good sign

    I did crap too....waffled on all the written questions and I'm pretty sure I got the first question 1.1 wrong...I feel really rubbish about it but there's not much that can be done now! :oops:

    I feel exactly the same as you....So many people chose AVCO...not wishing that others had got it wrong too but it is consoling that not only I did that! A trick out question! :oops:

    Exam results 10 August. I cant remember where I saw it but I did write it down so that I would't forget.

    I used FIFO (initially thought it was AVCO but couldn't get the figures to work out).

    Light and heat.... think I used floor space.

    I thought it was AVCO carried on for while and then went back to check and changed it to FIFO! was confusing I think.
    I used sq m for rent & heat & light, machine hours for power for two depts I think, something like 2000 and 3000 hrs each.
    Went with reccomending new project as I worked out payback period to 1.2 years and there was positive npv.....just cross my fingers that if I did go a bit awry with my calculations that they will give me the benefit of the doubt since my recomendation was based on those figures :oops:

    Hi Hellboy,
    that's what I got too. I thought the 3164 was a wierd figure as it was something like 3164.4512 but then I read it and it said round to nearest batch so I thought that was a bit of alright then. My MOS was 43%, not saying we are right but we agree!!!! 8)

    i got 1 digit higher as i read the question thinking it said to round UP, but the MOS sounds similar to mine so thats a relief, cant wait to see my college group tomorrow and see what they put

    I have been studying Foundation and Intermedaite together give me Foundation anyday. I sat the Foundation today that was easy also Intermedaite on Monday I knew all the formulas for the questions but I could dont explain them. Is this normal?????

    I got the same figures. I really missed up on the break-even question though in section 2, it confused me as I'm use to dealing in units not batches, so my break-even was over 8,000 which is defenately wrong! but never mind its done now. :cry:

    Correct answer was 3165 because the question did say to round UP to the nearest batch, because if you sold 3164 you would have the slightest loss and therefore wouldnt have covered your costs which is basically the definition of break even

    I really cant remember what i got for breakeven n MOS but the 3000 and something, which everybody keeps mentioning sounds very familar. I got FIFO for my stock method, was so proud of myself, i saw people keep going back to it, i just wanted to poke them and tell them what it was, when you look at it now it sounds really simple, but when your under a lot of pressure its a different thing.

    I recommended the policy, however i did point out that it wasnt company policy to accept it! At least I spotted it i suppose, but i wish i rejected it now.

    I thought the Allocation question wasn't that bad, i've done worse, but i probally did it wrong.

    I so prepared myself for a process account, but we didnt get one. The written question was a lot worse!

    When i came out of the exam i felt pretty confident, but after reading ppls messages im getting quite anxious now - i dunno how to feel. All we can do now is wait i guess.

    One last thing i really wish i shown more workings than i did! especially on my breakevens n MOS i didnt show nothing at all, just put the answer in the box, what about everybody else?

    I think my breakeven figure was 3165. Can't remember the MOS figures but did we not have to calculate 2 figures? - thought we were given 2 forecasts of activity levels, I could be wrong, I have slept since then. LOL. If anyone can remember the activity levels for sales then we can work out the MOS in units, sales revenue and %age.

    But hey, what's done is done. We simply have to wait and see what the results in August bring.
