Can never get the ETB to balance

Dreading tomorrow as every past paper I do I can never get the damn TB to balance in section one, even when I've calculated the figures rightly to get there. My tutor says you don't lose that many marks but I'm dreading going in tomorrow.

    na ul lose more marks sittin there tryin to make it balance!! carry on n do all the questions, if u got time go bak and look, but if 1 figure is rong you'll only lose marks for tht error, so dont worry too much :)

    another way if you cannot get it to balance is use a suspense account i know someone did that last year .I am in the same position as you i can never seem to get it to balance but i am confident it will come all right on the day . One thing i have noticed is the exams seem easier than the mock that i have been doing .

    Use a suspense a account to make it balance

    Absolutely !! I stuffed up on the part exchange bit in my FRA exam in Dec last year and my TB didnt balance AT ALL, but I remembered reading in the chief assessors report that you will still gain a mark for making it balance by drawing a suspense account, so I did that an I made the TB balance then ;)

    can someone pls help me. On the rent question i got the bank figure of 4900 and added it on to the prepayment of 1100 and then took off the preayament of 900. Also in the stock question i got the sales figure and deducted 90 and 120. Is that right

    i did FRA in december and my ETB was out by 47000 and i still passed. so dont worry.

    I'm sure your right on the rent question. I did the same as you except the 900 was 1200 I think. Maybe it was 900 I can't remember now.

    Not sure about the stock question. Everyone I asked about that seemed to have done something different. Look at it this way, if you did it wrong your certainly not alone. :o)

    I used the cost values as stock figures as they were lower of cost and net reaslisable

    well i figured there had to be a sodding ssap number in there some where so used that, mind u was just hoping i think as i'd revised them and frs all morning.
