Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
I just want to say a HUGE thankyou to Sandy.
Regardless of whether I have passed or failed, I pretty much flew through the questions and other than missing out the overheads on the marginal rec and getting the final ROCE and stock turnover wrong, I 'think' I've done ok.
Prior to that one days revision with Sandy, I really didn't have a clue and was struggling so much with my variances.
What Sandy did for me was give me an understanding of 'why' we did it all rather than just parrot-fasion 'how' to do it.
So, again, thanks a million Sandy. I highly recommend your revision days to anybody.
All the best.

Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
You are all welcome
Waterfalls
The exam questions are not available to me today. I hope to collect a copy tomorrow.
I will try to complete my answers within the next week but I am swamped by non-AAT marking at the moment.
When I have managed to write an answer I expect that I will be looking for someone to type it up.
Thanks to everyone who has made such nice comments. I hope that everyone who was at one of the classes will be receiving a nice letter in August.
That makes your hardwork worth it.

Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
Spot on with my answers except f the total absorption cost. i did that as a whole for the company, oh well should still be ok i hope.
Cheers petrol monkey0 -
Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
I originally put the absorption cost for the whole company as well, but realised when I was checking it was to value opening stock on the previsous months total absorption cost, so changed it at the last minute.

Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
Oh thank you so much - my confidence in myself was rubbish and I thought I had gone right off on one with the labour limiting hours. The only thing I did was include the overtime premium in the labour budget initially but not for the absorption cost, which was a bit silly. I split my absorption cost at the last minute for sigmas and thetas.
Capital budgets I did bluff my way through that one -may have got a mark or two.
Thanks to you guys I can rest easy.

Yes i did split the absorption cost for both products for the value of opening stock.
The question before said total absoption cost for production.
Thats were my answer was total material, labour & then labour hours x oar.0 -

Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
Excellent, looks very similar and brings back memories to my answers!!!!
Would like to take time to personally thank SANDY HOOD i think her information was invaluable, and especially the day before the PCR exam when I was at stress level 10 and she sent me an email.
Thanks again, may have to resit the PEV but deffo passed the PCR, already done the other exams and units, completed my project, so just waiting for the results now in August.
SANDY do you teach CIMA too!0 -
Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
sorry 4 those who wanted 2 feel relaxed about their answers, i just dont feel like giving more (photographic) copy of exams.
from what i see, most of u have done well, and they will pass, although all of you had some little mistakes, and they shouldnt be of danger.
cheers

Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
Rome84 I do you teach CIMA too
I have also sent off my handwritten PEV answers to a kind forumite and hope to have these available as an attachment next week.
I haven't done my PCR answers yet, but as Alan Cull is a regular visitor to the local AAT Centres meeting, and the next one is on Friday I will be doing my answers before I go so I can discuss the paper with him.
Then anyone wanting me to send my handwritten answers to them can send me an SAE.
I have left my address elsewhere, but will add it again when I have done my handwritten PCR answers.0 -
Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
I now have my PEV answer as an excel file and can email anyone who would like to see it.
I am doing the same for ECR so please email me with a clear request for my PEV answer so that I know that this is the answer you want.
I will do my PCR answer this evening and if anyone would like to type this out I would be grateful.

Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
Hi Sandy, thanks very much for the PEV answers - looks like I pulled the rabbit out of the hat for the marginal costing statement. Comparing my answers with yours, the only question I got wrong was the consolidation of the two companies and the ROCE, but I used the correct formula so should get points for that.

Re:F.A.O. SANDY HOOD
