Sandy - I have a query with your answers to the 2.5 the memo question. In my studies with BPP & in the past papers it always states that the payback period is only acceptable if it agrees with the companys policy. However NPV is different you can base a favourable decision basis on a positive NPV alone.

I recommended that the project be rejected using the payback period as an evaluation method & accepted using the NPV method of evaluation.

You can't both accept and reject a project. The company has a clear policy that means the project must be rejected although as Sandy says you might want to ask if following this policy is the best way to go with such a strong NPV.

I've some issues with the payroll question, but then that's probably just me getting it wrong.

By recommending and rejcting a decision (abeit because you have used 2 methods that conflict with each other) you are sitting on the fence. I would expect that a decision would earn the mark and to go along with company policy would be a good decision.

But in terms of marks I expect that more marks are for the calculations, so you certainly appear to have passed this task.

There was a glitch on early copies of the wage calc. I had written 108 but it looked like 168 (my hand-writing being at fault) this has now been corrected and the majority of people got the corrected version

It was to do with the way I'd split basic and overtime rather than the figures themselves. My totals were the same as yours anyway.

All the rest looks much the same as I got far as I can remember, so I'm pretty happy. Actually, I was pretty happy with my paper before I saw your answers, it just confirms my feeling that I did OK. Which is nice.

If you are interested in FRA and the exam papers are available then Peugeot will possibly have a go at it if you ask him nicely!!

If he's too busy then I'll have a go, it's what I do at work but he would be the better one to ask at the moment.

Yes ok, I'll have a bash and if Annette doesn't mind then I will ask her to check my answers.

      Is the paper available yet?

      Kind regards

Both June 2006 papers appear to be on the site now. I'd be very interested in the answers to the FRA paper, having just looked at it again it has re-affirmed my doubts in the silly mistakes i've made, all of which appear to be in section 2 only! oh dear...........
