Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone else hasnt really started Unit 7 yet?
I have just taking the two exams last week and have the unit 7 skillstest in 2 weeks.
I have just been reading other posts and some people seem to have finished altogether?!
Just that now I'm slightly concered as at college we have only done graphs and how to write a report in Unit 7. My tutor has said that the rest is easy and nobody fails the unit 7 skillstest.
Is this correct is it easier than the other units? Should I be worried that I only have two lessons left until the test?!

Hi G.
Unit 7 is quite straightforward. Once you've got your head round the VAT rules - you'll be fine.

Re:Unit 7 - Help Please!
Our Teacher for unit 7 wasnt great and was told off by the head of school for basically being useless. In preparation for our skills test we completed the exam questions in the back of our textbooks and bascially taught ourselves. As a whole we did Ok and a few (inc me) had to re take some of the questions. I am suprised they have left in until now to do the skills test - we did ours back in March.0 -

Hi G,
Just read through the unit 7 reporting & returns part, and do some of the questions in the back, just make sure you know VAT and you'll be fine, you get the chance to do corrections anyway.
I didn't like the skillstest for any of the exams. Thought they were all quite hard.

Re:Unit 7 - Help Please!
We in our class haven't even begun to cover R & R yet, and the way simulations are sat at our place there is no chance of failing. Very disappointed with the whole way of teaching and the bad organisation. Am i being old fashioned or did doing a course used to be being training for a job, now i know i can pass an exam but but doubt the if could do a costing job if it came up.0 -
Re:Unit 7 - Help Please!
Thanks for all your replies. Hopefully I will be ok. Cant wait until its all done and dusted, had enough now! I feel let down by my college as well, i would have been better off doing distance learning. As for doing costing in the workplace we dont do anything like it where I work.

Think most of us struggle with costing because unless you work in a manufacturing industry it is not something you come across, even then it is all done on computer!!! :?0 -

Hi i sat unit 7 today reports ans returns, it wasn't that bad, the tutor marked it straight away, only had 1 thing wrong. Quite enjoyed doing it.

Re:Unit 7 - Help Please!
Hello
I've only just gone back to Unit 7 following exams and am panicking too, though my Tutor(!) says it's easy & would send me some VAT examples (but hasn't bothered - as usual). I am doing by distance learning so don't have anyone else to ask. I've been given a workbook to go through which has questions including debenture holders & liquidity ratios neither of which are mentioned in the text book, I get so frustrated. I've had to look up stuff on the internet in order to answer some of the questions.
I'm glad I'm not the only one in this situation and that others did find it easy.0
