Has anyone done the sim/devolved for preparing ledger balances? Is it much harder than the exam? I sit mine on Friday and would like to start the summer on a high!

    Hi, if this is the last sim paper...i can't remember! then look out for the opening balance in the cash book. They have made it complicated! Apart from that it was not too bad, and because of the trial balance at the end you know if you got it right or not! Best of luck. Gotta go as am revising for DNP today.

    Just sat this, found it awfull. If you hadn't got the first part right then nothing balanced all the way through. I think I might be re-sitting that one!! Did anyone else find this really hard?

    Yes, i found it difficault too. I was there for the full 3 hours!!! Finally sorted it in the end though, with no top up or re-sit. Thank god. Im glad i took it before the exam as I made sure i was well prepared, I wasnt going to be sitting there for another 3 hours pullinbg my hair out.

    I didnt manage to sort it my TB didnt balance so i put in a suspense acc. Do you think I would have failed it?

    I was allowed four hours for mine :?

    At first I couldnt get my TB to work but it was just something stupid which I sorted out, made a cock up on one of the journals too which i sorted out (i think). I think this sim was easier than receipts and payments, prob cos i'd dont the exam a week before.

    Hiya

    If it is the same sim i did last December then I never got my TB to balance. But I still passed after some questioning as I made a mistake at the start, and carried the wrong answer all the way through to the TB. I passed as I carried the wrong answer through correctly.

    If that is the case, then providing you can explain what you did incorrectly you should be fine Lyagirl. And because you put in a suspense account - that shows you know what to do if you cannot get the TB to balance which always looks good. :lol:
