just wondering if people prefer to do the skills tests rather than the portfolio?

i am finding the portfolio rather difficult as i have moved jobs and locations recently and my evidence is always changing. ie i worked in a hotel which had no debtors so i had to explain the situation - i now work in a place where there are debtors and my evidence does not match.

just wondering if sitting the skills tests would stop all of this - and what is the system for the skills tests

PS i am distance learning in germany

many thanks

    Hi,

I've always found the Portfolio easier to do compared to the Skills Test. However for Unit 4 on Foundation I did the Skills test and for Unit 3 as well, but I do prefer the Portfolio work!!

I personally find skills tests or assessments blimmen hard work. You are flicking back and too, back and too through all the data. It's like starting a new job and ebeen expected to to the lot in 4 blimmen hours! It just wouldn't appen in real life! You are allowed four hours now. Our college said that coming back to an assessment after a break students find difficult, so they try and do it in one session, although you can have a break in between if you want. I feel overwhelmed with assessments to be honest, too much to take in.

Disagree. I found skills tests very useful. It reinforced all your knowledge and became a very useful revision exercise. New Member
