    Re:Technician Exams

    Hi Kelly,

compulsory units are Performance and Enhancement of Value (PEV), Drafting Financial Statements (DFS), Planning and Control of Resources (PCR) (these are all central exams); and your project on Managing accounts and resources in the workplace (can't remember the exact title).

Then you take two options out of the following four:

    Audit - skills test
Cash Management and Credit Control - skills test
Personal Tax Computations - central exam
Business Tax Computations - central exam

Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Re:Technician Exams

The part of the website you are looking for is under 'Students' then 'Resource Centre' then 'Technician Level Student Record (new standards)

    http://www.aat.org.uk/servlet/file/Technician_record.pdf?ITEM_ENT_ID=696&ITEM_VERSION=1&COLLSPEC_ENT_ID=34

Try pages 21 and 22. To summarise:

You will have to pass six units:
(not counting the Health & Safety one if you haven't done that yet)
    You will have to:
    * Take between three and five exams
    * Write a project
    * Take up to two skills tests

You must sit exams for three units.
    These are 8, 9 and any one from 11, 12, 13 and 14:

Unit 8- PEV "Contributing to the management of performance and the enhancement of value."
    and
Unit 9- PCR "Contributing to the planning and control of resources."
    and any one of
Unit 11- DFS "Drafting Financial Statements (accounting practice, industry and commerce)"
Unit 12- DFC "Drafting Financial Statements (Central Government)"
Unit 13 DFL "Drafting Financial Statements (Local Government)"
Unit 14 DFH "Drafting Financial Statements (NHS)"

You also have two compulsory non-exam units: Unit 10 and unit 22
Unit 10 "Managing Systems and People in the Accounting Environment"
    and
Unit 22 "Contribute to the Maintenance of a Healthy, Safe and Productive Working environment"

(Unit 10 is the 'Technician Project'. If you haven't done Unit 22 at Foundation or Intermediate, you must do it here)

Finally, you have two optional units. These are assessed either by exam (Units 18 & 19) or by skills test (Units 15 & 17):

Unit 15 "Operating a Cach Management and Credit Control System"
    or
    Unit 17 "Implementing Audit Procedures"
    or
Unit 18 BTC "Preparing Business Taxation Computations"
    or
Unit 19 PTC "Preparing Personal Taxation Computations"

Personally, I will be sitting PEV and PCR this December, and DFS, PTC and BTC next June.
    Good luck

    Graham

    Re:Technician Exams

You can take the exams in whatever order you want. As long as you complete the compulsory ones and take 2 options and complete the project yuo will still get the qualification.
