Sage query

Can anyone help me please. I am trying to run a client's Sage year end.
I have printed out the period TB which shows a bank balance of £25,870.05 however....
On the nominal activity report the balance is £26,125.41 :?
Has anyone got any ideas on where to look for the £255.36???????? I have never come across this before and it is doing my head in.
Any help soooo much appreciated!

Re:Sage query
When I have had this before (admittedly not with the bank) it has been down to a dodgy transaction before or just after the period in question. Is that a possibility?

Re:Sage query
Firstly, did you change the programme date? If so were there any transactions in this nominal account dated after this date?.
Secondly change the programme date to the year end date and run a Check Data, (File, Maintenance, Check Data) This will highlight a lot of problems that may cause this difference.
When this has happened to me it is usually because I have input some data with an incorrect future date.
Hope you sort it out.

Re:Sage query
Thanks you gals for replying - I will give it a try in the morning - and let you know how I get on.
As it is the bank, and I have reconciled it, so know that it is right, that is my confusion.
I can reconcile it to the nominal activity balance (so i assume that one is correct) but no idea where the difference between that at the period TB has come about.
Many thanks.

Re:Sage query
Has a year end ever been run?
The sage TB is a historical one and you might find that when you do a nominal drilldown differs becuase of this. The drilldown is the activity between the date range you specify and is not necessarily the same as the year end TB admittedly it should be!
Try and find the transactional TB (believe me its there! Don't you just love all of sages reports arrggh!) and work it back from there.

Re:Sage query
Hi there
File maintenance has fixed it for me - increased bank and reduced debtors, though I can't see what transactions it relates to.... Should I worry, or leave it as fixed and right???
Have a good weekend everyone - footie, tennis and cricket

Re:Sage query
Glad its fixed
what will have happened is some transaction have been pushed into the coming year.
As its now sorted and matches your nominal reports, well thats the activity in the year so I wouldn't go and look for something... all you will find is within the report there will be some additional entries.

Re:Sage query
Many thanks for that Dean
It just seemed a bit too easy to hit the fix it button
and nothing else - but as problem fixed and no-one has sucked their teeth like the plumber does! - then I will have a happy weekend!!
