New Job!

I am currently an accounts assistant at a company that is paying for my training. I have just completed the intermediate and will be going on to do the technician.
The problem is I'm not enjoying where I work - my boss can be a bit insensitive and basically rude. This isn't the only reason but its probably the main one! I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any jobs going that will offer training. Also what kind of pay they offer? I'm on £15,000 at the moment which I think is good with the training.
Thanks
P.S. I live in Lincolnshire

Re:New Job!
Yep, £15k with training is a good pay, although it does depend on the content of your work!
Check out the job pages at the back of the AAT mag, there are usually loads there
Also, it gives you a good indication as to whether you are on a generous or not so much salary :P
Give your CV to a local agency, let them do the searching for you!
A good national agency is Hays Accountancy, just select the parameters you're looking for and away you go
http://www.hays.com/accountancy/
Another is Reed

Anyway, good luck hunting

Hi
Not quite sure what or where to go next. Have not worked for 15 years now 50. Have previous accounts experience and have enjoyed Foundation and Intermediate. Son just starting secondary school and would like to work around him but have very little computeriesed accounts experience. Any advice

Take a look at the above sites, requesting part time as opposed to full time. Have a look in your local Yellow Pages under Employment/Recruitment Agencies, this will help you find some local agencies, which can sometimes cater to your needs a lot better, as they will know the local area and companies a lot better! They will usually give you a long interview, just getting to know you and your working needs, to best place you in work.
Also, I'm not sure if they offer the same service in England, but in Wales, if you're not working you can get your CV professionally done by the Careers Service. I had it done professionally, and it made a big difference!
As your computerised accounts knowledge is limited, you might be best looking at manual book-keeping posts, however, most colleges offer courses in Sage accounting (a very popular accounts package used by most small to medium businesses). It's a very simple package to learn to use.
Also familiarise yourself with MS Office, mainly Excel, this is a brilliant selling point for any potential employer. Most colleges offer funding for these courses if you're currently not working, so take full advantage while you can and gain as much computerised experience as poss :P
Don't let your age hold you back, or your gap in employment, work them both to your advantage i.e. you have managed the family finances effectively for 'x' years, college courses, polite telephone manner, patient and diplomatic, etc. 8)
My mum is in her 50's and trying to find work after an absence, I reworked her CV saying much of the above and she's had quite a few interviews from it!
Mothers/housewives don't realise how many office skills they actually have
I hope my ramblings have been of some use to you, keep us posted on your progress, and best of luck

Re:New Job!
Many thanks Stress Bunny!! While in College, I did Word Processing Basic, Intermediate All distinctions.
Also Text Processing Basic, Intermediate and Level 3. Again all distinctions. Distinction in Sage 1 and pass on Sage 2. Was awarded "Outstanding Student of the Year" last year. I guess my main problem is lack of confidence and being so long out of the work place is daunting. However, I will take your advice and see a Careers Officer and get my C.V. professionally done. I will keep you posted but know I have to get into practice. It's okay knowing it all in your head, it's practical experience I'm lacking.
