Hi,
I'm struggling with Task 2 filling in the VAT fom. I;ve got the correct output VAT but don't know where the input total of ££13477.96 comes from or Total value of purchases at £80727.
I've taken out the inter company transfer VAT and added the VAT for the petty cash but I'm still £3263.90 out on my VAT answer and just can't see why. What relevance does the cash book have? could someone help please it's driving me mad!

Purchase day book £12690.53
Petty Cash £244.95
Bad debts (£420 x 17.5%) = 73.50
Engineering supplies invoice £466.77
Alpha stationery invoice £2.21
Total = £13477.96
Purchase day book (91870.20 - 12690.53) = 79179.67
Petty cash (1780.29 - 244.95) = 1535.34
Alpha stationery (14.84 - 2.21) = 12.63
Total = £80727.640 -

Thanks Shaz, I feel a complete dingbat cause later found workings out in rear of book!! Plonker! I'm panicing clearly as I haven't sat my Unit 7 yet and only started it after exams but am conscious that the college shut on 14th which means I really have to take it next Wed - aargh!
Nothing seems to be going in for this one and the book is riddled with inaccuracies which doesnt help when you're on your own - any tips?
