After a little bit of advice here. I have completed Foundatiion (did a retake in December) and then was gonna start intermediate in September this year. I've since then found out that i'm pregnant and due in November. Do you think i'd be silly starting it in SEptember still when i know i'm gonna have to have a break in November. Or shall i start the course in January instead. Opinions would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re:Advice
Congratulations!!
That is a hard question to answer??!!
My first suggestion would be maybe doing home learning but then you will be probably be very busy with the baby?!
How long are you planning on taking the break for?? My thoughts are after having the baby in November will you really feel up to returning to studying in January??
If you are doing it at college maybe you could speak to the lecturer and see what their advice would be?? You may be able to study at home and then go in now and again to get things checked?? I am not 100% sure though - just an idea??
Sorry I couldn't be more help?!0 -
Re:Advice
My own feeling is that I found there was a tight enough timescale for the December exams as it was without any break. I also reckon you might be a bit preoccupied for a while, not to mention sleep deprived.
I think you have to be realistic here and just accept that having a baby is going to delay things a bit. Of course if you could ask it to hold on until after the exams...
Congratulations anway

Re:Advice
Hi
I've just completed the intermediate level and there have been 2 women that have had babies in our class one in November and another one in February. They both said that it was hard work but they both decided to carry on with the course. We've not had exam results yet so i can't tell you how they did but they both did the work and said that the exams were okay!
Good luck in what ever you decided to do.

Re:Advice
If you are 100% determined to finish Intermediate Level then you can. Anyway in my college we only did 1 simulation (not external exam)-Preparing Reports and Returns on December and did 2 external exams on June. Just a matter of time management really. Just be sure you also have quality time for the baby. Congrats!!!

Re:Advice
Hi,
I just completed my Intermediate Level and my baby was due on November 2nd last year. She was born on November 4th and although I missed quite a lot of time from college (about 10 weeks altogether) I didn't find it too difficult (although my opinion may change if my exam results say I failed!
). I just worked really hard beforehand and picked up any handouts etc from missed lessons each week to do at home - that way you can fit it in when your baby is sleeping or if someone else is there to occupy him/her. So long as you're willing to put in the work you need you should be fine!
The only thing I will say is that I resat my FRA last month as I failed the December sitting - however, I was fully expecting that before I began the Intermediate level in September so it didn't come as a surprise - I only really sat the paper to see what it was like in preparation for June!
Sorry to ramble but hope this helps.... Good Luck whatever you decide and Congratulations!!

Re:Advice
Congratulations!!
My advice is to get hold of the Osborne books for ECR and FRA as they have great example questions that take you through subjects step by step and give a really good grounding for exams.... I worked my way through cover to cover 2 months before the June exams and it really helped. As for unit 7, if your ICT skills are good then I wouldn't buy any books as it is fairly straightforward.
Whatever you decide, I wish you the very best of luck!
