I am waiting on my DFS results from June and then I am done.

I am starting ACCA to do papers 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 in December. If anyone has started these already, I was just wondering how you find them. Also, how many hours a week do you study for each paper? I know its different for everyone, but I am just curious.

Also, with regard to the tax paper 2.3 - do you need to know all the rates and allowances for the exam or are these given to you for you to then use for calculations?

Thanks and good luck to everyone else who is waiting for results too! It's worse than sitting the exam.

Susan

    Re:ACCA Papers

    Hi,

I've done ACCA and I do know in the taxation papers you are given the rates and allowances - you don't have to learn them.

I've just replied to a post on the foundation forum concerning ACCA papers. Initially, the papers may seem quite easy to some students but I must stress they are NOT the same as AAT papers. Don't get me wrong AAT papers are hard (I know, I did them) but ACCA papers take it one step further. But with hard work and determination it's very much achievable.

As far as study times are concerned this is hard to compare. I used to do BPP weekend courses, then the weekday revision courses and two/three evenings per week per paper.

    Kind regards and good luck
    Steve

    Re:ACCA Papers

    I have just sat 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3.

As Steve said the rates and allowances are given to you in the tax exams but you do have to learn some formula.

I didn't find doing the three that bad - the worst one I found was law (too much to remember).

I studying with FTC - weekday tuition, revision and QBR.

My results come out on 21 Aug so fingers crossed!

    Good luck!
