Self Assessment Tax Returns

I have been asked by a couple of contacts to assist with completion of their tax returns. I'm just wondering what to charge them. Does anyone know what the "going rate" is for completion of self assessment tax returns?

    I charge £100 this is for the self assessment and the set of accounts (Accountants statement, P & L, and owners declaration).

    Wow - that's cheap Terry - I charge at least £100 just for doing a simple easy peasy tax return.

    If they want accounts done too, then depends on the state of the raw materials I am brought (with extra charged per McDonalds wrapper left in carrier bag!) :lol:

    I know it is cheap because i have seen the previous accountants invoices, as soon as i get a decent client base i will review my pricing and hopefully i will keep them based on the work and good relationship that i would have built up.

    A brilliant tip is look at the p/y accounts and see what the previous accountants charged. Then you can undercut if you want :D

    Another tip is beware of "I am a little old lady living on my pension" - I fell for that one once and once only - little old ladies who live on their pension do not have to submit tax returns!!!!!!

    :shock: I can't beleive the price this commands! I have completed partnership returns this year for the first time, with the help of a chartered accountant and didn't charge my client anything! I just wanted the practice! Well I know in future now.

    What would you charge for partnership returns? Effectively there are three returns here, one for each partner and one for the business.

    By the way, I love the Claudia/Dean double act. You guys make me smile :lol:
