Freelance work via recruitment agency?!...

Hi all!
I have just accepted some freelance work for a charity, via a recruitment agency. I will be invoicing the agency and they will bill the client.
The recruitment agency will not indemnify my work (which is OK because I have my own PII) but I don't know whether to issue a letter of engagement to them or to the client or to complete a subcontract agreement.
The sample subcontract agreement on the aat website says the agency should idemnify me but they aren't....
Any ideas anyone?..!! :?

Tricky one :?
Thinking about it logically you will be doing work for the charity, so you should issue them with a letter of engagement, and in effect they are paying for your services, albeit with an agency mark up.
Perhaps you could also put something in writing to the agency saying that you are working for the charity but they (the agency) are responsible for paying your bills.
That might be the best "belt and braces" approach.
Hope it is a fun assignment!

Backs are important 8) Tell the agency that as it is your PI on the line you have to have a letter of engagement - they will be making loada money, so a bit of grief might make them earn it a bit.
Sorry dont know where the vitriol on agencies came from - I used to be a recruitment consultant before I had kids!!!

I would say that the letter of engagement needs to be between you and the agency and nothing to do with the charity...
Ultimately its the agency that will pay you.
The agency then needs to issue its own contract to the charity.
I think that you actually dont need the "letter of engagement" but more a "contract for services" issued to the agency. If you don't like the one via the AAT then I have different one on file I can email you?
