Re:PEV for December 2006 exam
I'm listening really carefully, still can't hear my brain clicking!
Best tip I've been given (which might not make sense to you now!), is too write all the variances on cards and just keep re-reading them!

Re:PEV for December 2006 exam
Good luck guys
The PEV & PCR are the hardest exams I've taken espcially the PEV. Will most likely be taking PEV again in December (took it in June)
One thing I would say regarding the variances is that you will need to learn the underlying knowledge of these including the sub-variances as it gets very technical in the exam.
anyway thats my moan.....must be getting nearer the results day

Re:PEV for December 2006 exam
Yes, I quite agree. I have just spoken with my tutor and I might postpone PCR until next year and just concentrate on getting PEV right.
There aren't any shortcuts - just keep slogging away!

PS Good luck - not long to wait now!

Hi
If click on the following link there is a very useful way of remembering the variances - it worked for me when I did PEV and PCR in June.
Best of luck

Re:PEV for December 2006 exam
I wouldn't advice postponing one or the other of the costing papers.
If you are going to do one you should do the other. The "underlying knowledge" comes from both papers.
Maybe forfit a Tax paper?

Re:PEV for December 2006 exam
Thanks - I'm only considering postponing until June 2007.
Perhaps it will all suddenly come together. I won't make any decisions about exams until October.
Plenty of time until then...

Re:PEV for December 2006 exam
Hi, I am looking at doing PEV, PCR & DFS all in December.
My tutors have told me that PEV & PCR cross over each other a bit, so it should be easier to learn (I hope)
I get all of the past exam papers off of the net and then, after class, I ask my tutor and ask them what questions I can do for homework to help me understand the way the AAT write the questions. It also helps calm my nerves before the exam, because I think I can do these past exam questions and get it right.0 -

Re:PEV for December 2006 exam
PEV and PCR are very very similar - I got to the stage (a while ago now) when I wasn't sure what was going to be in one paper and what in the other.
Of all the papers to do at the same time, these are the two as there are loads of similarities.
If you are working on it already, you should be fine by December

Re:PEV for December 2006 exam
Thanks. I am struggling, but only because I'm not really applying myself. I need to knuckle down and just get on with it!
