Hi
I am confuse here, ACCA and AAT are they the same thing? I thought, when I complete my AAT technical level, that would be the end of my accounting study.
Is there anymore to learn after my technical level? If there is, how long would it take to complete? a year or more? :?
Advice needed please

Re:AAT vs ACCA
Completion of the AAT means you will be a qualified accounting technican though not a qualified accountant. AAT is not the same as ACCA.
The AAT is a qualification in its own right and much sought after by employers but to qualify as an accountant you will need to complete one of the chartered courses i.e. ACCA/ICAEW/CIMA/CIPFA etc.
I did AAT and ACCA and it took me a total of approximately six years to complete both (3 years AAT and 3 years ACCA). Please note, it is not advisable to sit too many papers at ACCA level all at one go as they are more advanced.
Kind regards

Re:AAT vs ACCA
Thank you for the tip, which one do you recommend for me in future, ACCA, CIMA,CAEW or CIPFA? I mean which is more recognisable?
Do I have to do it in the university? or home study? :?:0 -

...and by the end of AAT you'll be wishing for "one night a week" to yourself

I agree Dean!! My study at college was only 5.5 hrs per week but that didn't account for all the extra work in my own time!! Especially completing my portfolio towards the end!!
